Flood Damage

Over time, the nature of the weather the UK is experiencing is changing.  The seasons seem to be merging into one, with recurring heavy rain and stormy conditions at any time of the year. Wind and lightening can cause impact damage, but in recent times the most devastating results of flood damage have been witnessed in various parts of the UK.

Residential Properties

Water damage to your home from external floods or an escape of water/burst pipe can be considerable.  Water damage needs to be dealt with in the correct way, with drying and restoration works carried out thoroughly and within the correct time scale.  Indeed, if repairs are carried out incorrectly, they could even impact on the value of the property. Future insurance cover also needs to be borne in mind.

Commercial Premises

Water damage at your commercial premises – whether from a flood or an escape of water – can be highly disruptive and threaten your ability to continue trading.  Delays in getting liability accepted by your insurers can have a significant impact on cash flow.

Whether it be a domestic or commercial flood claim, our aim from the outset is to get liability accepted as soon as possible so that emergency funding is secured.  We will  assess the damage and produce a detailed schedule of works for submission to the loss adjuster. Negotiations then take place to achieve the best settlement for you. Once approved, we then seek the services of a building contractor to carry out the repairs and oversee their successful completion.  The works are only signed off when they have been completed to the required standard, incorporating your needs as well as can be reasonably expected and justified.

Our services are normally free of charge to you, as they are paid for by your insurance company. Not many people realise that they can employ a building surveyor to act on their behalf, but it is normally included in the detail of your insurance policy.  The most important issue for you to think about is employing someone who has the knowledge and expertise to help you out when you need it most.  Here at E-Value8 (UK) Ltd we believe we have those skills in place – assessing what needs to be done at every stage of the project and making sure that the works are carried out as soon as possible to a high specification.

At what point should you call E-Value8 (UK) Ltd?

It’s potentially never too late to call us in. We can help in the immediate aftermath of the flood. Alternatively, if it’s some weeks since the claim and you are experiencing problems, or if you are unhappy with the proposed settlement, we can step in and take over the negotiations.
